A sweet, sunny escape

Winter is a very pleasant season as long as it snows and as long as you are a winter sports fan, but what happens when you become nostalgic about the hot, summer days with the sun up in the sky, shining and warming the long beaches covered with delicate sands? Don’t you worry, you still have Spain! The beautiful Costa del Sol is a place where temperatures reach 18 to 20 degrees Celsius even in January or February.

Of all the places on the sunny Costa del Sol, Malaga is the most famous one, a holiday resort to visit any month of the year and the perfect escape in the cold winters - when everyone is complaining about the cold and the wind, you can enjoy the warm sun! It is true, the winter season in Malaga brings more rain than in the summer, but that's what keeps the vegetation so lush! However, rain does not last forever and when it goes away, you can enjoy the rays of sun by spending time at the beach, reading a good book or by killing time on one of the many terraces, chatting with your friends and family members.

The first thing that you will notice when visiting Costa del Sol is the unusually relaxed atmosphere, completely different from what you see in hectic cities all over the world. The fact that Malaga is all covered in fresh green in the middle of December probably has to do a lot with its unique climatic conditions. The range of activities in Malaga is very wide, from horseback riding to more adventurous occupations such as hiking or climbing. Malaga is also a city that you have to explore and discover street by street and corner by corner, because there are a lot of wonders hidden within its walls.

The squares are beautiful and full of monuments which display beautiful elements of different architectural styles, the surrounding villages are charming and determinedly keep their traditions alive, while the cuisine is absolutely delicious. One big advantage of Malaga is that it is located in a place from where you can easily get to Granada, Marbella or Estepona, as well as to the high mountain peaks covered with snow of the Sierra Nevada range.
