Spain: is there anyone who hasn’t heard about Spain? I personally think that this is absolutely impossible, because Spain is one of the most famous and one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is a country that millions of people visit every year attracted by the wide range of amazing places that they can see. Spain is the type of country that meets the tastes and desires of all sorts of people, so everyone who visits it at some point falls in love with it. There are so many provinces that one can visit and so many breathtaking landscapes to see. You have to visit this country for a relaxing holiday and for an interesting lesson of history.

Go to the province of Asturias

Asturias is known as being a principality and one of the most beautiful provinces in Spain. The capital of the province is Oviedo, the city which is renowned for the spectacular Cathedral and for the monuments that have beautiful pre-romantic elements. The province is surrounded by high mountain ranges, making it enjoy a beautiful landscape; the mountains host natural reserves where those who love nature can spend a pleasant day surrounded by the pure and unspoilt nature from all parts. Tourists love the province for the spectacular landscapes which seem to be taken from another world. The beaches are also great, covered by delicate sands and guarded by crystal clear, shallow waters perfect for families with small children. A major attraction of the province, apart from the numerous nature reserves is represented by the famous Saint James’ Route, the popular route which pilgrims from all the corners of the world follow every year in their attempt to reach the grave of the Saint by foot.

Asturias is also a province where history was very well kept, a place full of historical sites and museums which host objects that show us how our ancestors lived. It is also a province where the customs and the traditions of Spain have been very well preserved, as the inhabitants of the province think that these are the things that identify them as individuals. Oviedo is the capital of Asturias, but you should also visit Gijon or Aviles. Gijon is a city which was founded by the Romans; so many fingerprints of this amazing civilization were left behind here. Visit the province, enjoy the landscapes and its cultural heritage and your holiday will be a memorable one.
